Time Consuming

Sorry, it's been a while since I posted anything. I just seem to be so busy lately. Maybe that is what inspired this post! D

Time-consuming,” the term conjures images of things that fritter away our time; things like dishes and laundry, carpool lines and homework. Those tedious activities we do that seem to have no real value. We think of things that devour our time and take away precious moments that could be used to do “more important things.” But what if we stopped complaining of things being time consuming and found ways to use our time consuming the things of God? What if we spent more time consuming God’s word? More time consuming God’s presence? More time consuming God’s blessings?

Imagine using our time to devour the bread of life instead of allowing time to devour lives? We could consume our time doing dishes and laundry by thanking our Heavenly Father for meeting our basic needs. We could consume our time in carpool lines and homework by praying God’s protection and wisdom over our children. We could transform each of those tedious activities that eat away our precious time into an opportunity to eat away at Satan’s strongholds in our lives. We can make those moments precious again by thanking God for his love, asking for his wisdom and basking in his glory. How much more peaceful would life be if we stopped allowing ourselves to think of things as time consuming and began to spend time consuming the life that Jesus came to give us in full?
